Ukraine's defenders have destroyed more than 1,000 Shahed and Geran drones using STING interceptors in four months since the start of their serial production, nearly half of them in October.

Quote from the developers: "The team worked on the STING for more than a year. We conducted hundreds of tests, made dozens of trips to the front line, and invested hundreds of thousands of dollars all with one goal – to create a mass-produced, simple, and affordable Shahed interceptor."

Details: The Wild Hornets added that the system can be deployed in up to 15 minutes. The drone launches without a catapult from any flat surface, rapidly gains altitude, and quickly intercepts the target. It can also be returned if the target is not detected or has already been destroyed by another STING.

"The STING effectively destroys Shaheds at distances of up to 25 kilometres. It is compatible with any FPV station but works best with the ground control station developed by Wild Hornets. The drone can also be equipped with the unique Hornet Vision digital TV system," the team noted.

They also mentioned that training to operate the STING interceptor takes up to three days at the Night Hornets training centre.

"Thousands of drones roll off our production line every month. Every night, dozens – and sometimes hundreds – of Shaheds are destroyed by the STING, thanks to the dedication of our defenders," the developers emphasised.

Background: Earlier, it was reported that from July to October 2025, Ukrainian-made STING interceptors destroyed 900 Russian targets.
