Quote: "There are currently 4,900 people remaining in the Kostiantynivka hromada itself, and in the city of Kostiantynivka the figure is nearly the same – 4,800 residents." [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

Details: Petlin says that volunteers can still access the city on armoured vehicles, which means civilians can evacuate.

He added that there is currently one route out of Kostiantynivka: Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka – Druzhkivka – Kramatorsk, then on to safer oblasts.

Background: Soldiers from the 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade have reported that they thwarted an attempt by Russian forces to break into the city of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast, forcing the Russians to retreat with losses.
