Controversial Romanian MEP boasts about meeting with former Russian president in Sochi

Diana Șoșoacă, a Romanian Member of the European Parliament, met with Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, in Sochi on Saturday 15 November.

Details: The notorious Romanian politician said she had taken part in a "high-level private meeting" with Medvedev, during which "the main conflicts taking place at the global level" were discussed.

In her remarks at the meeting, Șoșoacă called for "behaviour based on normality, respect, rules, and true principles of diplomacy and political education".

As a sign of respect and gratitude, Medvedev decided to stand next to Diana Șoșoacă, with whom he spoke directly, in the official photograph – an extraordinary gesture in the context of the strict protocol and health and safety measures that were introduced for the delegations."
