Ukrainian Defence Industry to develop interceptor drones together with Czech company

Ukrainian Defence Industry (UkrOboronProm), Ukraine's state-owned arms manufacturer, and the Czech company Air Team have signed an agreement on the joint development and production of interceptor drones for the security of Ukrainian airspace.

Background:
- On 17 November, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the defence industries of Ukraine and France will jointly produce interceptor drones. Recently, he also stated that Ukraine has begun to produce interceptor drones jointly with the United States.
- On 14 November, Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that Ukraine has launched mass production of a domestically developed interceptor for Shahed-type drones that Russia uses in its daily attacks on Ukraine. He noted that the technology has been transferred to the first three manufacturers and a further eleven are preparing their production lines.
- At the end of October, Zelenskyy announced Ukraine's intention to reach a production capacity of 500-800 interceptor drones per day as early as November.
