Trump promises not to lift sanctions on Russian oil during "peace plan" talks

US President Donald Trump has said that sanctions on Russian oil will remain in force while the American "peace plan" is being discussed. Trump was responding to questions asked during a Fox News podcast with host Brian Kilmeade.

Details: Asked whether the US might suspend sanctions imposed on Lukoil and Rosneft during the "peace plan" discussions, Trump said it would not.

Quote from Trump: "They [the sanctions – ed.] go in very soon, and they are very powerful. Very powerful. I mean, it makes it very hard to sell oil. That's a big thing. You know, their [Russia's – ed.] whole economy is based on oil."

Details: The US president added that he would not be doing anything related to lifting sanctions in the near future.
