Lukashenko pardons 31 Ukrainians

Self-proclaimed Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko pardoned 31 Ukrainian citizens on 22 November.

Quote: "Following agreements between the presidents of Belarus and the United States, Lukashenko has pardoned 31 Ukrainian citizens. They are now being handed over to the Ukrainian side."

Details: It was also reported that a separate decision to pardon two Catholic priests had been taken at the request of Pope Leo XIV.

Background: In September, ahead of Belarus's Day of National Unity, Lukashenko pardoned 25 people who had been convicted, including for "crimes of an extremist nature".
