Child injured near Sumy due to Russian attack

A nine-year-old child has been injured in a Russian attack on the village of Velyka Chernechchyna on the outskirts of the city of Sumy.

Details: Hryhorov reported that the Russians deployed attack drones to strike civilian infrastructure in the Sumy hromada on Monday 24 November. The strike has caused disruptions to the city's electricity supply. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

Russian forces also hit a populated area governed by the Velyka Chernechchyna village council, injuring a nine-year-old child, who was subsequently taken to hospital. Doctors are currently examining the patient and providing the necessary care.

Background: On 19 November, Ukrainian air defences downed 61 Russian drones in Sumy Oblast. A 58-year-old man was injured as a result of one drone being shot down.
