Ukrainian company Himera Radios has unveiled a new HIMERA B1 repeater for its radio systems.

Details: It is noted that many units are already actively using the B1 in the field.

"On the northern front, a network spanning more than 20 km was built using the repeaters, providing stable communications to units in the most forward positions. And one unit, using three B1 devices, managed to achieve 80% coverage of the territory of one of Ukraine's regional centres," the developers wrote.

The HIMERA B1 expands the capabilities of radios in field conditions – from building robust MANET networks to extending coverage where other solutions do not work. The repeater is designed to expand the HIMERA mesh/MANET network and ensure stable communication wherever it is critically important.

Key features:

  • MANET coverage extension – each B1 repeater strengthens and stabilises the network
  • AES-256 – encryption and frequency-hopping complicate interception, detection and suppression by enemy EW
  • Rapid deployment – compact, lightweight and does not require complex infrastructure
  • Dust- and moisture-resistant
  • Up to 14 days of autonomous operation

For reference: MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) is a decentralised, self-organising wireless network that operates without fixed infrastructure. Each device can move freely and act as a router, passing data between other nodes and forming a dynamic, resilient communications system.

Background: Earlier, it was reported that Himera communication systems had been tested by a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. The trials used Himera G1 PRO radios and B1 repeaters and were conducted with the 151st Separate Reconnaissance-Strike Battalion.
