Ukrainska Pravda has established that a section of the Druzhba oil pipeline suffered an explosion near the settlement of Kazynskiye Vyselki in Russia's Tambov Oblast on 1 December.

Details: Sources told Ukrainska Pravda that the attack on the oil pipeline had been carried out on the Taganrog-Lipetsk section of the pipeline near Kazynskiye Vyselki. They said an explosive device used for the blast had been triggered remotely and contained additional incendiary components to intensify the fire.

Users posted videos of the explosion on local social media channels. Residents reported a loud rumble in the Kazynskiye Vyselki area, accompanied by bright flashes in the sky.

Russia uses the Druzhba oil pipeline to transport crude to countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
