Air-raid sirens blared across the Polish town of Lubartów in the Lublin Voivodeship on the morning of 6 December following an alert about a possible threat from the air.

Details: Lubartów Mayor Krzysztof Pasznik said the warning had been issued based on information from the District Crisis Centre regarding Russian attacks on Ukrainian regions.
Following inspections in which services in Lublin also participated, no threat was found, and the all-clear was issued after approximately 90 minutes.
The governor of Lublin Voivodeship confirmed that he did not authorise the sirens and that his services had not given such an order.
RMF24 reported that the District Crisis Centre had received a warning about a possible threat coming from another area.
Meanwhile, an investigation is underway into whether the activation of the sirens was the result of disinformation.
This incident occurred in the context of a large-scale Russian attack on Ukrainian regions, in response to which Poland scrambled warplanes.
Background:
- On the night of 5-6 December, Russian forces launched a combined strike on critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine using loitering munitions and air-to-surface, maritime surface-to-surface and surface-to-surface missiles
- In total, Air Force air surveillance troops detected and tracked 704 Russian-launched aerial assets, specifically 51 missiles (including 17 ballistic ones) and 653 drones of various types.
- It has become standard practice in Poland, and now Romania, to deploy aircraft following incidents in which Russian-launched drones or missiles aimed at Ukraine crossed into neighbouring countries.
