Quote: "A decision was taken to fully demolish the damaged structure and build a new station in Fastiv following a meeting of the task force on dealing with the aftermath of the enemy attack, chaired by Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) CEO Oleksandr Pertsovskyi.
The project will undergo a public consultation process – residents of the hromada will definitely be involved in the work." [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
Details: According to Netiazhuk, a temporary modular structure will be installed on the platform for the duration of construction. A tent has already been set up to provide heating for passengers and to serve as a waiting area.
Netiazhuк noted that long-distance passenger trains have already resumed passing through the station following the strike. Work to partially restore suburban passenger services is planned next.
Quote: "Railway workers are doing everything possible to ensure that services to Kyiv operate as normal from Monday."
