Quote from the Choir: "Before the full-scale invasion, Valerii Lytvyn was a violinist, just like his father.
Our sincere condolences to Volodymyr [Valerii's father – ed.] from the entire choir! Eternal glory to the Hero!"
Details: Valerii's death was also reported by the Berehynia Kyiv Academic Theatre of Ukrainian Folklore.
He was the son of Volodymyr Lytvyn, the first violin of the Veryovka Ukrainian Folk Choir.
Ukrainian choirmaster Vasyl Romanchyshyn wrote that Valerii was a graduate of the Pavlo Chubynskyi Academy of Arts.
"The bright memory of him will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, who taught him and studied with him," Romanchyshyn said. "But now there is grief and indescribable pain. There are no words that could bring comfort to his family, loved ones and friends. Only deep sorrow and anguish in the soul."
Valerii voluntarily joined the Ukrainian military to defend his homeland on the very day Russia launched its full-scale invasion, 24 February 2022. As Yarmak recounted, in 2023, Valerii served alongside him as chief engineer in an FPV-drone unit. Yarmak described him as "a formidable warrior with whom I went through serious operations".
