EU to join establishment of commission to review Ukraine's claims against Russia

The European Union will join the establishment of the International Claims Commission for Ukraine on 16 December, which is being set up as part of the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, according to Michael McGrath, EU Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection.

Details: McGrath will sign the Convention establishing the Claims Commission on behalf of the EU next week.

Quote: "Next week, on 16 December, I will attend the diplomatic conference on the signature of the Convention establishing the Claims Commission [for Ukraine's claims against Russia for war-related damage – ed.]. I encouraged all Member States to join us in that step."

More details: McGrath also stressed the importance of establishing the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression in a timely manner.
