About 430,000 consumers in south of Ukraine remain without power after Russian attacks

Russia's large-scale attacks have complicated the operation of the power system in the south and east of Ukraine.
Source: Anatolii Zamulko, Acting Head of the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate of Ukraine, during the national joint 24/7 newscast
Details: Zamulko said that significant outages have been recorded in the south of Ukraine, including in the cities of Odesa and Mykolaiv and in Kherson Oblast. Energy workers are restoring electricity supply, but about 430,000 consumers still remain without power.
He has added that the situation is also most difficult in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk oblasts, where there is not enough generation and long outage schedules are being applied.
Quote: "Balancing the power system is currently complicated by damage to major networks and facilities of Ukrenergo [Ukrainian national energy company], which affects the electricity supply schedules. Emergency repair work is being carried out round the clock."
More details: Zamulko has stressed that outage schedules are being reviewed to minimise disruption for the people and ensure power for critical infrastructure.
Background: Over the weekend, Odesa Oblast suffered one of the largest attacks. Russia deliberately struck electricity distribution and transmission facilities, including substations belonging to Ukrenergo. Consumers in Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts have been temporarily left without electricity.
