Zelenskyy says talks with US delegation were productive

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that discussions with the American delegation have been substantive and effective, saying he hopes they will bring Ukraine closer to a "dignified peace".

Details: Zelenskyy acknowledged that such talks with the US are not easy.
"But the conversation was productive, very detailed, and it is important that peace be dignified – this matters to us," he said.
Quote from Zelenskyy: "We continue our diplomacy aimed at ending the war. We need to meet and work to create dignified conditions for ending the war. We must not forget where this war came from in Europe and who brought it."
Background:
- Earlier, AFP reported that during talks in Berlin on Sunday 14 December, US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner pressed Ukrainian representatives to give up the part of Donbas still under Kyiv's control.
- Following this, Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Serhii Kyslytsia urged the public not to trust anonymous sources on the US position in the negotiations.
- Rustem Umierov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council, has said he expects Kyiv and Washington to agree on common positions by the end of the day, bringing peace closer.
