Russia loses 1,730 soldiers over past day

Russia has lost 1,730 soldiers killed and wounded and more than 400 weapons and pieces of military equipment over the past day.

Details: The total combat losses of the Russian forces between 24 February 2022 and 17 December 2025 are estimated to be as follows [figures in parentheses represent the latest losses – ed.]:

• approximately 1,192,350 (+1,730) military personnel
• 11,427 (+6) tanks
• 23,758 (+21) armoured combat vehicles
• 35,205 (+33) artillery systems
• 1,571 (+1) multiple-launch rocket systems
• 1,262 (+1) air defence systems
• 432 (+0) fixed-wing aircraft
• 347 (+0) helicopters
• 91,386 (+167) operational-tactical UAVs
• 4,073 (+0) cruise missiles
• 28 (+0) ships/boats
• 2 (+0) submarines
• 70,361 (+179) vehicles and fuel tankers
• 4,027 (+1) special vehicles and other equipment.

Background: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier said that Russia is losing around 30,000 troops killed each month in its war against Ukraine.
