No progress yet on elections under martial law or online voting – Zelenskyy
Ukrainian MPs have not yet presented proposals to amend election legislation for voting under martial law and there is still no consensus on holding elections online.

How do you feel about the possibility of voting through Diia [Ukraine's revolutionary e-governance platform] or other electronic methods for Ukrainians abroad? I have always supported and raised the issue since the start of Covid [pandemic] about legislative changes so people could vote online. So far we haven't found a consensus with parliamentarians."
Background:
- On 10 December, Zelenskyy discussed with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada the possibility of holding presidential elections in wartime Ukraine and is now waiting for MPs to "present their perspective".
- US President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine should hold a presidential election, as a long time has passed since the previous vote.
- The Ukrainian leader commented on Trump's remark that it is time for Ukraine to hold presidential elections and has said he was "ready for ever".
- He also said that international partners should ensure security during the vote.
- Zelenskyy is prepared to support amendments to the law on elections during martial law and is waiting for proposals from parliament.
