Kremlin confirms plans to meet US representatives to learn latest outcomes on peace deal

The Kremlin has confirmed media reports that preparations are being made for a meeting with US representatives in order to review the results of talks between the United States, Ukraine and Europe on a peace agreement.

Quote: "Preparations are indeed being made on our part for certain engagements with our American counterparts in order to obtain information about the outcomes of the work that was carried out by the Americans with the Europeans and Ukrainians."
Background:
- On 18 December, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a Ukrainian delegation will hold talks with the US side in the United States on 19 and 20 December regarding the "peace plan", security guarantees and Ukraine's recovery as it continues to fight off Russian aggression.
- Axios, citing a White House source, reported earlier that a Ukrainian delegation may travel to Miami for talks with US representatives following a visit by Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
- It was reported that Dmitriev, one of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin's envoys, is expected to visit Miami on 20-21 December to hold talks with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner regarding the US "peace plan".
