Details: The situation remains most difficult in the regions bordering Russia and in frontline areas.
"The enemy continues its systematic attacks on Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv oblasts, where extensive damage has been recorded to generation facilities as well as electricity transmission and distribution networks," the statement said.
In Odesa Oblast, more than 73,000 consumers remain without power as of the morning of 19 December following overnight strikes, while in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast more than 26,000 customers are affected. Emergency repair works are ongoing.
Repair crews are working both at high-voltage substations operated by Ukrenergo, a Ukrainian state-run energy company, and on the networks of distribution system operators.
Due to significant damage and limited electricity transmission capacity in certain regions, rolling power outages continue to be applied.
Background: Hourly power outage schedules and power restriction schedules for industrial consumers will be in effect on 19 December in most regions of Ukraine.
