As of now, the defence forces of Ukraine hold positions within these settlements and on the adjacent lines."

Details: The brigade said that Russian forces, after intense fire using artillery of various calibres and drones, are using the terrain, forest belts and dense tree lines to infiltrate the gaps between positions.

It also noted that some Russian troops disguise themselves as local residents. Their actions are described as local assaults and sabotage and reconnaissance activity.

Quote: "The enemy uses the barrier line of the Siverskyi Donets river for logistical support and to cover advance routes.

All detected enemy attempts to advance or entrench are thwarted by firepower and counter-actions by Ukrainian units."

Background: On 16 December, DeepState, a Ukrainian group of military analysts, reported that Russian forces had captured Serebrianka in Donetsk Oblast and advanced near four other settlements.
