Details: The operation took place more than 2,000 km from Ukrainian territory and is described as unprecedented.
The source said that, following a multi-stage operation in neutral waters of the Mediterranean Sea, the SSU's Centre A hit the tanker Qendil, which is described as part of Russia's shadow fleet, using aerial drones.
The tanker was not carrying any cargo at the time of the operation and was empty. Ukrainska Pravda source has added that the strike posed no threat to the region's environmental situation.
The attack has caused critical damage to the Qendil and left it unable to be used for its intended purpose.
Quote: "The aggressor state used this tanker to bypass sanctions and earn money that went to the war against Ukraine. Therefore, under international law and the laws and customs of war, it is an entirely lawful target for the SSU. The enemy must understand that Ukraine will not stop and will strike it at any point in the world, wherever it is."
