Mandatory evacuation of children and their parents announced for 19 settlements in Donetsk Oblast

Ukraine's Coordination Headquarters for Evacuation Measures has announced the mandatory evacuation of children and their parents from 19 settlements in Donetsk Oblast.

Quote: "Due to the security situation, it has been decided to carry out the mandatory evacuation of children, together with their parents or legal guardians, from 19 settlements in Donetsk Oblast."

Details: The decision was taken during an expanded meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Evacuation Measures and Effective Response to Mass Population Displacement. A list of the settlements from which children are to be evacuated was not provided.

The ministry also reported that it has been decided to evacuate around 200 people with limited mobility from residential care institutions in Zaporizhzhia Oblast to Chernivtsi Oblast in Ukraine's west.

The ministry stated that there are currently 17 transit centres for evacuees in Ukraine: seven in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, three in Sumy Oblast, two in Kharkiv Oblast, three in Volyn Oblast, and one each in Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

Quote: "Since 1 June, more than 147,000 people have been evacuated from frontline areas to safer oblasts, including over 17,000 children and more than 5,000 people with limited mobility. Around 93,000 people have been evacuated from Donetsk Oblast; almost 35,000 from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast; over 4,400 from Sumy Oblast; over 3,700 from Kherson Oblast; over 8,500 from Kharkiv Oblast; and over 2,700 people from Zaporizhzhia Oblast."
