Quote: "Tomorrow [26 December – ed.] at 13:00, the first online meeting of the working group on preparing elections and referendums during martial law and in the post-war period is scheduled.
So far, around 60 people have already joined the working group. It is also possible that people without the status of a working group member will join, but with the ability to take part".
Details: Korniienko said the working group includes two representatives from each parliamentary faction and group, around 10 people from key civil society organisations, as well as representatives of executive authorities and security agencies.
The group also includes five members of the Central Election Commission (CEC) led by its chair. Korniienko said the first meeting would consist of two large blocks. The first is organisational and will concern how the group will operate, while the second block is planned to include a presentation by the CEC.
"The CEC members will prepare an overview presentation where they will raise all the problems that exist both with elections during martial law and with post-war elections… And then we will simply exchange views on which of these problems and how they can be addressed, and where we need to move… So yes, we will work for about two hours," he said, adding that the meeting will be broadcast online on social media and on YouTube.
