A Russian drone has hit an infrastructure facility in the city of Odesa on 26 December, sparking a fire.

Details: The drone strike caused a fire. Emergency services are working at the scene, dealing with the aftermath and inspecting the surrounding area for possible damage to civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.

Lysak added that no casualties had been recorded.

The situation along the coastline was addressed separately. Specialists from the Ukrainian Scientific Center of Ecology of the Sea are monitoring the condition of seawater and assessing potential environmental damage. By decision of the city commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations, work is ongoing along the coast to contain and eliminate any pollution.

Power engineers are also restoring electricity supplies to homes in Odesa.

Background: Emergency power outages were introduced in Odesa on 25 December to prevent overloads of damaged equipment. Meanwhile, the situation in the city remains under control.
