Russian Foreign Ministry says "milestone" has been reached in ending war, but further "push" needed

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has claimed that no deadlines will help in the "real work" of ending the war in Ukraine, while describing 25 December as a "milestone" at which the sides had drawn closer to ending the war.

Details: Ryabkov said that 25 December marked a point at which the sides had "moved closer to resolving the Ukrainian issue", but that a further "push" is needed.
"Whether we will be able to make the final push and reach agreements depends on us, our work, and the political will of the other side," he said.
The Russian minister went on to complain that Ukraine and the European Union, "which are not focused on reaching an agreement, have redoubled their efforts to torpedo it".
Ryabkov also stated that it will not be possible to reach a final agreement unless the "problems" that Russia claims are the root causes of its war against Ukraine are "correctly resolved".
Quote: "No artificial timelines will help here, no deadlines – nine days, 90 days, whatever – they do not help with the real work."
