Moscow hints at rejection of 20-point Ukraine-US peace plan

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has said that the 20-point plan published by Ukraine and agreed with the United States "differs radically" from the agreements reached between Washington and Moscow.

Details: Ryabkov referred to a "plan consisting of 20 points" which, he said, had appeared "in Ukrainian public channels".
"We know that this plan radically – if it can be called a plan at all – differs from the 27 points which in recent weeks, starting from early December, we have been working through with the American side," he said.
Ryabkov added that a "detailed analysis of the meetings" between Russian and US representatives in Florida over the past weekend will take place in the near future.
Quote: "But the political will to remain within the framework set in Anchorage is not just fundamental for us, it is an imperative. We cannot go beyond these limits, otherwise it will not simply be an unstable agreement – there will be no agreement at all."
Background:
- On 24 December, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed the content of the 20-point peace plan agreed with the United States for the first time.
- Moscow has indicated that Russia will be demanding significant changes to the draft peace plan agreed by Ukraine and the US.
