Moscow hints that it will reject Ukraine-US 20-point peace plan

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has said that the 20-point plan published by Ukraine and agreed with the US "differs radically" from the agreements reached between Washington and Moscow.

Details: Ryabkov referred to a "plan consisting of 20 points" which, he said, had appeared "on Ukrainian public forums".
"We know that this plan – if it can be called a plan at all – radically differs from the 27 points which we have been working on with the American side over the past few weeks, starting in early December," he said.
Ryabkov added that a "detailed analysis of the meetings" between Russian and US representatives in Florida over the past weekend will take place in the near future.
Quote: "But the political will to remain within the framework set in Anchorage is not just fundamental for us; it is imperative. We cannot go beyond these limits; otherwise, it will not just be an unstable agreement – there will simply be no agreement at all."
Background:
- On 24 December, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed for the first time the contents of a 20-point "peace plan" agreed with the US.
- Moscow has indicated that Russia will be demanding significant changes to the draft peace plan agreed by Ukraine and the US.
