Russia attacks Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast: one injured, damage reported
Russian forces have attacked the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast on the night of 26-27 December, injuring one man and damaging buildings. The attack is ongoing.

Details: As of 04:59, the Air Force reported drones moving from the north past Vyshhorod towards Kyiv.
Earlier, the Air Force warned of a group of drones passing near Brovary and heading for the capital.
The Kyiv Oblast Military Administration also reported that air defence forces were responding to the drones.
Quote from Kyiv Oblast Military Administration: "Drones have been detected in the airspace. Air defence forces are responding to the aerial assets. Stay in shelters until the all-clear is given. Take care of your safety. Observe information silence – do not document the work of our defenders and do not post it online."

Quote from Kalashnyk: "The enemy is deliberately targeting critical infrastructure and residential areas. Sadly, one person has been injured. A resident of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast was driving a lorry during the attack and suffered shrapnel wounds to the back. He has been taken to a local hospital and is receiving all necessary medical treatment."
Details: Kalashnyk said that windows in a high-rise building in Vyshhorod had been damaged. Production facilities and two cars were damaged in the Boryspil district.
A fire also broke out at a construction site in the Bucha district.
In addition, premises belonging to a municipal company in one of the hromadas in the Obukhiv district were damaged. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
Background: A large-scale air-raid warning was issued across Ukraine on the night of 26-27 December. Kyiv was initially targeted with ballistic weapons. The all-clear was later given in some oblasts, but drones subsequently attacked the capital.
