Ukrainian anticorruption agency detectives enter parliament committee building after being blocked by state protection officers

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has said that officers of the State Protection Department were obstructing its staff during investigative actions in the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) committees.

Details: NABU said that detectives were denied access from the European Square side in the city of Kyiv.

The bureau stated that obstructing investigative actions is a direct violation of the law.

Updated: Later, Ukrainska Pravda readers sent photos and said that detectives were able to enter the parliament committee building.

Background: NABU and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) said that an undercover operation has exposed an organised criminal group that includes serving members of Ukraine's parliament.
