Zelenskyy holds separate call with Starmer ahead of meeting with Trump

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a separate phone call with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Sunday ahead of his meeting with US President Donald Trump.

Details: Zelenskyy said he started his morning in Florida – where the meeting with Trump is due to take place later – with a conversation with Starmer.
"We discussed preparations for the meeting with President Trump, as well as all our contacts with European partners," he noted.
Zelenskyy also briefed the UK prime minister on the situation on the battlefield and the aftermath of Russian strikes.
Background:
- It was previously reported that Starmer did not join a call between Zelenskyy and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney with European leaders. The UK government explained this by citing a "busy schedule".
- It was reported that Zelenskyy held talks with representatives of the European Union, Canada and NATO.
- The call was also joined by French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
- Following the conversation, Tusk said the parties agreed that the key topic is security guarantees for Ukraine.
