Ukrainian experts join practising NATO Article 5 mechanisms for first time, Ukrainian General Staff reports

Ukrainian experts for the first time took part in practising the mechanisms of Article 5 of the NATO Treaty during the Loyal Dolos 2025 exercise.

Details: Representatives of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC) took part in the final phase of the NATO Loyal Dolos 2025 exercise to assess the combat capabilities of an Alliance unit.
Quote: "Lessons learned from Russia's war against Ukraine were integrated into the scenario to prepare the military for conducting combat operations in rapidly changing conditions. Ukrainian experts were for the first time directly involved in NATO exercises of this type."
Details: Colonel Valerii Vyshnivskyi, senior national representative of Ukraine to JATEC and Director for programme implementation at the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre, said that the participation of Ukrainian experts in Loyal Dolos 2025 – one of NATO's key training elements under Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty – is of strategic importance, as representatives of Ukraine have for the first time been involved in practising the Alliance's collective security mechanisms.
About 1,500 military personnel and civilian specialised personnel in various locations across Europe worked together to assess the capabilities of one of NATO's rapid deployment corps as an Alliance combat army unit.
