Trump says he'll call Putin after meeting with Zelenskyy

US President Donald Trump has said he will call Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday 28 December.

Details: Trump said he would call Putin after talking with Zelenskyy.

"I'm also calling President Putin back after the meeting, and we'll continue the negotiations – pretty complex, but not that complex," Trump said.

He emphasised that he "doesn't have deadlines" for the peace process.

"My deadline is getting the war ended… There will be a security agreement, it'll be a strong agreement, and the European nations are very much involved in that," the US president stressed.
