Ukraine's foreign minister says Russian claim of drone attack on Putin residence is attempt to undermine peace process

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has said that Russia's claims of an alleged "attempt to attack Putin's residence" are aimed at creating a pretext and a false justification for further Russian attacks on Ukraine.

Details: Sybiha added that this is a standard Russian tactic – accusing the other side of what Russia itself is doing or planning to do.

Quote: "First, Russia has already struck the Ukrainian government building this year.

Second, Ukraine only strikes legitimate military targets in Russian territory – in response to Russian strikes on Ukraine.

Third, Russia is the aggressor, and Ukraine is the country that has been attacked and defends itself according to article 51 of the UN Charter. There can be no false equivalence between the aggressor and the country defending itself."

Details: Kyiv has urged the world to "condemn provocative Russian statements aimed at derailing the constructive peace process", stressing that Ukraine remains committed to the peace efforts being led by the United States.
