Power restrictions in Kyiv continue due to damage from Russian attacks

DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, has said that emergency power outages have been in effect on Kyiv's left (Eastern) bank for a second day in a row, while scheduled outage timetables are operating on the right (Western) bank of the capital.

Details: Nevertheless, the company noted that scheduled power outage timetables are in force on Kyiv's right bank.
Background:
- On the morning of 30 December, residents of the capital began receiving notifications that emergency power outages had been introduced in Kyiv.
- On the night of 26-27 December, a nationwide air-raid warning was issued across Ukraine.
- Earlier reports said that as a result of another Russian attack, a significant number of consumers in Kyiv and Kyiv oblast were left without electricity.
- As of the morning of 28 December, DTEK energy workers had restored power supply to around one million consumers in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast.
- In the meantime, several attempts were made to switch Kyiv's left bank from emergency outages to scheduled ones, but as of 29 December this had not been possible.
