Details: Local residents reported sounds of explosions and a large-scale fire near an oil storage facility at around midnight.

Russian authorities later confirmed that drones had struck the area.

The Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters said that a pier at the seaport and the territory of the oil refinery had been hit.

"A fire at one of the piers was quickly extinguished. The fire on the refinery grounds, covering an area of 300 sq m, was also put out," the statement said.

The Tuapse oil refinery, owned by the state-controlled company Rosneft, is Russia's only refinery on the Black Sea coast and is among the 10 largest in the country.

The facility has been repeatedly targeted in drone attacks attributed to Ukraine's Security Service and Defence Intelligence. Ukraine's defence forces have been systematically striking Russia's oil and gas infrastructure in an effort to reduce the Kremlin's export revenues and disrupt the logistics of Russian forces.
