Zelenskyy orders preparations for reboot of State Bureau of Investigation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ordered the drafting of a bill to reboot the State Bureau of Investigation.

Quote: "I instructed that proposals for the renewal of the State Bureau of Investigation be prepared and promptly submitted for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. I expect the presidential bill to be drafted as early as January and submitted to Parliament without delay."

Details: Zelenskyy did not specify what changes the bill would include.

Meanwhile, a draft law registered in the Ukrainian parliament on 6 August sets out proposals to improve the State Bureau of Investigation and reduce the president's influence over the agency's composition and operations.
