Ukrainian Kosenko nominated for 2025 World's Best Men's National Team Coach award by FutsalPlanet

Oleksandr Kosenko, head coach of the Ukraine national futsal team, has been included on the shortlist for the World's Best Men's National Team Coach award for 2025 by FutsalPlanet.

Details: Kosenko was nominated for the annual Jako Futsal Awards, which are being held for the 26th time. The winner in this category will be officially announced on 7 January.

Several of Kosenko's fellow nominees are already known. They include Hicham Dguig (Morocco), Blazej Korczynski (Poland) and Matías Raúl Lucuix (Argentina). The final shortlist is still being compiled and will be expanded by six more coaches over the next five days.

In 2025, the Ukraine national futsal team played seven matches, recording five wins, one draw and one defeat.

Background:

• The European Futsal Championship will take place from 20 January to 7 February 2026. It will be the second Futsal Euro to feature 16 national teams. Ukraine have been drawn into Group B, where they will face hosts Lithuania, as well as Czechia and Armenia.
• Ukrainian Mariia Myslovska is in contention for the World's Best Referee award, also according to FutsalPlanet.
