Former State Border Guard head Deineko becomes adviser to interior minister and will later command SBG unit
Serhii Deineko, former head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, became an adviser to the minister of internal affairs on 4 January.

Details: Klymenko added that he expects Deineko to provide expert support, advice based on combat experience, and to take part in developing decisions in the field of state border security.
The minister stressed that after a short period of rehabilitation, Deineko will be appointed as commander of a combat unit of the State Border Guard Service.
Background: Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the interior minister would soon present candidates to replace the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and that Lieutenant General Serhii Deineko would continue working within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
