CBS News has obtained satellite images showing the aftermath of US airstrikes on Venezuela as part of the 3 January operation.

Details: The images show Fuerte Tiuna, Venezuela's largest military complex located in Caracas, where Nicolás Maduro and his wife were reportedly staying at the time of the operation and where they were later captured. Satellite photos from Vantor dated 22 December reveal the layout of Fuerte Tiuna and its equipment prior to the attack.

The Venezuelan opposition said strikes had also been carried out on La Carlota, the main airbase in Caracas, El Volcán, a signal antenna, and La Guaira, a seaport on the Caribbean coast.

CBS News has learned that a CIA source within Venezuela's government assisted the US in tracking Maduro's whereabouts.
