Right now, Ukraine needs to strengthen its internal resilience – both for the sake of Ukraine's recovery if diplomacy delivers results as swiftly as possible, and to reinforce our defence if, because of delays by our partners, it takes longer to bring this war to an end."
Details: Chrystia Freeland has served as minister of finance and minister of foreign affairs as well as deputy prime minister of Canada.
Freeland is also Canada's Special Representative for Ukraine's recovery.
According to information from the Museum of the Ukrainian Diaspora, Freeland has Ukrainian roots.
