President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on 5 January, saying that Kuleba remains "part of Ukraine's team" and that they had "agreed to define areas of further cooperation".

  • The president recently announced upcoming personnel changes in the security sector, government and leadership of the Office of the President and the Security Service of Ukraine.
  • In particular, on 5 January Zelenskyy appointed Serhii Kyslytsia as first deputy head of the Office of the President, headed by Kyrylo Budanov.
  • Also on 5 January, Zelenskyy met with Vasyl Maliuk and discussed potential candidates to succeed him as head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
  • On the same day, Zelenskyy appointed former Canadian finance minister Chrystia Freeland as his adviser on economic development.
