Zelenskyy: New deputy foreign minister will be selected soon

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will soon submit proposals on the rotation of Ukrainian diplomats.

Details: Zelenskyy received a report from Sybiha on 5 January. They discussed the results of Ukraine's diplomatic work in 2025 and the key tasks for this year.
They also talked about rotations in the diplomatic corps. Zelenskyy said that Sybiha would present the relevant candidates in the near future.
Quote: "Given the need for consistently effective work by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, a candidate for the position of first deputy minister of foreign affairs will also be selected. I expect proposals for a decision."
Background:
- On 5 January, Zelenskyy appointed Serhii Kyslytsia as first deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
- The Ukrainian leader noted that Kyslytsia is set to strengthen the diplomatic efforts within the President's Office and explained that he is reinforcing his negotiating team.
- Before being appointed first deputy foreign minister in February 2025, Kyslytsia served for five years as Ukraine's permanent representative to the UN.
