Zelenskyy and Macron to have lunch with Witkoff and Kushner ahead of Paris Coalition of the Willing summit

The summit of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris on 6 January will begin with a working lunch between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron, together with US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Details: Before the start of the Coalition of the Willing meeting, Zelenskyy and Macron will have lunch with Witkoff and Kushner.

An official from President Macron's administration said that 27 members of the Coalition of the Willing were expected to attend in Paris at the level of leaders and government, with representatives from a total of 35 countries and international organisations.

He stressed that a real achievement is that for the first time since 27 March 2025, the Coalition of the Willing is meeting in Paris in person in its full composition.

According to a European Pravda source, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Emmanuel Macron will hold a working lunch with the US negotiators – US President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, ahead of the expanded-format meeting, at around 13:45 Kyiv time.

Prior to that, a half-hour one-on-one meeting between Macron and Zelenskyy is scheduled.

The leaders' meeting of the Coalition of the Willing is set to begin at 16:10 Kyiv time.

At 19:45 Kyiv time, the Ukrainian president will hold a press conference.

Background:

• As European Pravda previously reported, participating leaders will commit to supporting Ukraine under five points, which include the deployment of multinational armed forces on Ukrainian territory during the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris on Tuesday 6 January.
• From the US side, President Donald Trump's adviser and special envoy Steve Witkoff will travel to France for the meeting. In addition, the event will be attended by the American leader's son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is also part of the negotiating group within the peace process.
• The European Commission has recalled that the main security guarantee for Kyiv from the European Union as a bloc is the prospect of Ukraine's accession to the EU.
