Russia loses 1,400 soldiers over past day

Russia has lost 1,400 soldiers killed and wounded over the past day, bringing its total number of personnel losses to 1,215,900.

Details: The total combat losses of the Russian forces between 24 February 2022 and 8 January 2026 are estimated to be as follows [figures in parentheses represent the latest losses – ed.]:

• 23,874 (+9) armoured combat vehicles
• 35,874 (+17) artillery systems
• 1,596 (+1) multiple-launch rocket systems
• 1,269 (+0) air defence systems
• 434 (+0) fixed-wing aircraft
• 347 (+0) helicopters
• 102,074 (+225) operational-tactical UAVs
• 4,137 (+0) cruise missiles
• 28 (+0) ships/boats
• 2 (+0) submarines
• 73,336 (+112) vehicles and fuel tankers
• 4,037 (+0) special vehicles and other equipment.
