Power has been restored to almost all critical infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, except for the city of Pavlohrad.

Earlier, hospitals, public transport and other critical infrastructure facilities in Dnipro and the oblast had been left without power.

Background:

  • On the night of 7-8 January, the Russians conducted a large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure facilities. Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts had been almost completely left without electricity as a result of the strikes.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that power supply has been restored in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, while repair work in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast is ongoing. The necessary resources and services have been deployed, and the prime minister has received instructions from Zelenskyy to provide all necessary support to local authorities.
