Quote: "Emergency power cuts have been introduced and are in effect in the city following another night of strikes. Buses are running on the routes of ground electric-powered transport [to replace the service halted by the power cuts]."

Details: Ground electric-powered transport on Kyiv's right bank has been temporarily suspended due to damage from the Russian attack and the resulting strain on the power grid, the city administration said.

The administration added that approximately 500 buildings in the capital remain without heat.

"Utility workers continue to work to deal with the aftermath of Russian attacks," the authorities said.

"Today's attack has left the capital with an even greater electricity shortage, so severe that even critical infrastructure cannot be fully powered," said Vitali Klitschko, Head of Kyiv City State Administration.

"Power engineers are working. However, the situation is extremely difficult," he wrote on Telegram.

"I would also like to emphasise that reports about the supposed closure of large supermarket chains are not true," Klitschko said.

"I would like to thank the businesses that continue to work to provide the city's residents with essential food and goods in this emergency situation," he wrote.
