Quote from Vyriy: "The board is easy to integrate into existing platforms and has received formal approval for service. It will now be fitted to all of the company's products, particularly the Blyskavka ["Lightning"] attack UAV. Vyriy also adheres to a fixed-price principle, prioritising efficiency so that innovation improves performance rather than raising costs."
Details: Vyriy said that Popcorn is based on the Rico board architecture, which has proved itself in combat conditions. The company's engineers retained the core functionality while significantly expanding control and protection capabilities.

The system has comprehensive security enhancements, providing four stages of protection against uncontrolled activation. The emphasis is on full operator control. System status and timer countdown are now visible on the on-screen display (OSD), making operations more transparent and predictable.
Quote from Vyriy: "For personnel safety during preparation and transport, the board is equipped with a mechanical safety check that physically breaks the detonator circuit. Unlike many analogues, Vyriy engineers developed Popcorn with a controlled activation function using external contact sensors. Combined with an activation delay timer extended to two minutes, this significantly reduces the risk of false or accidental detonations."
More details: Vyriy said the updated solution expands access to more complex tactical tasks. At the request of partner combat brigades, the company introduced a remote detonation function operated via the control unit. Thanks to the activation delay timer, Popcorn is now compatible with delayed-action devices. For additional safety, the developer said an automatic self-destruction mechanism activates after 48 hours.
Vyriy also reported that the electronics have been fitted with a reinforced protective casing, enhancing the system's resistance to mechanical damage and harsh weather. All board components are further coated with a protective sealant to prevent short circuits caused by moisture, condensation, or fog.
Quote from Vyriy: "We continue to enhance the key components of unmanned systems, considering the needs of our defenders. Popcorn's simple architecture, external contact activation, and clear operational logic improve the system's overall reliability. This functionality allows us to meet the primary request of frontline troops – guaranteed activation at a specific moment while ensuring maximum crew safety."
Background:
- The Blyskavka attack drone developed by Vyriy has received approval for sale via the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace and through the Army of Drones. Bonus programme on the Brave1 Market platform.
- Last autumn, Vyriy introduced a range of new products, among them a carrier for FPV drones and a cost-effective fixed-wing reconnaissance UAV.
