Kyiv authorities initially link apartment fire to drone strike but later clarify cause was different

Kyiv authorities reported on the morning of 14 January that an apartment in Kyiv's Obolonskyi district had caught fire following a Russian attack, but later confirmed that the fire was not related to the attack.

Details: No casualties have been reported so far. Klitschko noted that the drone had struck the seventh floor of a 16-storey residential building.

Update: Tkachenko later stated that the fire in the Obolonskyi district had not been linked to the drone attack. "The cause is under investigation," he said.

Ukraine's Air Force reported at 07:41 that drones were approaching Kyiv from the north. An air-raid warning was issued in the capital at 07:40.
