Quote from Zelenskyy: "The main target was energy facilities and critical infrastructure that ensures normal life for our people: heat and electricity."
Details: Ukrenergo reported that missile and drone attacks on energy facilities have left a significant number of consumers without power in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast as well as in Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
Power outages have also been reported in Zhytomyr, Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts.
Ukrenergo said emergency repair work has begun wherever the security situation allows, and power engineers are doing everything possible to repair damaged equipment as quickly as possible.
Background: Power supply restrictions have been introduced in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast by distribution system operators, meaning the previously announced rolling power outages are temporarily not in effect.
