The grey zone has expanded in the area of Komarivka, a border village in Sumy Oblast, with Russian forces stepping up activity along the state border and attempting to gain a foothold there.

Quote: "In the latest update, the grey zone has expanded in the area of Komarivka. The enemy has recently increased its activity along the state border, taking advantage of the opportunity to enter a border village, trying to gain a foothold there and destabilise the situation. The Russians are also immediately probing the possibility of expanding the zone of such activity and control, as happened in the case of Komarivka itself or Hrabovske, where they managed to entrench themselves."

Details: DeepState noted that the number of such zones is growing, but that it is often possible to wipe out Russian forces at the very start of an attempted incursion, meaning not all markings necessarily make sense.

Background: On the morning of 15 January, Russian forces dropped a guided aerial bomb on the central part of Bilopillia in Sumy Oblast, killing one person and injuring four residents.
