Around 50 apartment blocks in Kyiv remain without heating

Around 50 residential buildings in Kyiv remain without heating out of the 6,000 that had no heat supply after the large-scale attack on energy infrastructure in the capital on 9 January.

Background:

• Explosions were heard in Kyiv on the evening of 8 January. Russia attacked the city with drones.
• As of the morning of 9 January, more than 500,000 consumers in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast were left without electricity after the Russian attack.
• Half of Kyiv's apartment buildings — almost 6,000 — were without heating due to damage to the capital's critical infrastructure caused by a large-scale Russian attack.
